Good News for Al Waleed

BLANKETSBridge of Peace Syria is very happy to announce that we have raised enough money, including $200 for truck transportation fees, for the first shipment of blankets to 300 children in the Al Waleed Refugee Camp.  These refugees come from outlying areas of Hamah City and other villages that have been bombed, forcing residents to flee.

A big THANK YOU to all who donated to help us reach our goal, especially our friends and family in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  Also, thanks to our loyal friends in Australia who continue to make financial gifts regularly!

Tamer has found a good source of blankets, thick enough to help keep these children warm, especially at night, as the cold is now settling into northern Syria with BLANKETS1temperatures below freezing.  If all goes well, these blankets should be arriving at the camp within one week.

We are now shifting our fund raising efforts to Phase II – The purchase of warm socks and shoes, coats and gloves, baby formula, powdered milk and bottled water.

Please make a donation to Bridge of Peace Syria and become a sponsor:

GIFT PLAN 1:  $50 will purchase a warm winter coat, a pair of socks, shoes and gloves
GIFT PLAN 2:  $100 will purchase a months’ food for one family
GIFT PLAN 3:  $160 will purchase a months’ food plus milk and diapers for one family
GIFT PLAN 4:  Other amount will be used for the above purchases

Our financial goal for this part of the project is $5,000.  It will be another milestone in our mission to provide the Al Waleed camp, with 104 families and nearly 700 people the supplies they need to survive the winter.  Now is a great time to make a donation to help the people in Al Waleed.  Please donate on line by clicking HERE or send a check to Bridge of Peace Syria, PO Box 3133 Fayetteville, AR 72702-3133.  Thank You!

After meeting some of these beautiful children in Al Waleed via SKYPE, seeing the smiles on their faces and the happiness that comes by receiving help from those who care is a joy we can all share.  In Syria, a land with so much suffering, these gifts of life essentials are gifts that truly keep on giving.
